Kidz Club is an After School and Summer Program open to children who are between the ages of 5 and 13 years old. The program is in session before and after school, as well as during public school recesses and closures, five days per week.

Activities

The program activities are based on the interests of the children, who are more than eager to offer their input. More than one activity is offered at a time so that each child may have a choice in which activity they would like to participate in.

Classroom Set Up

The classrooms are divided into several interest areas which may include, but not limited to, any of the following areas: study area, library, gaming area, art center, science center, community/social area, computer table, media center, creative play area, woodworking area, and personal space area.  Areas and materials are changed routinely with the interests of the children. After school activities include home work help and theme oriented activities and free play.

Summer Program

Over the summer the children attend the local pool four times a week. They go bowling weekly for four weeks.  Some of the field trips scheduled for the summer of 20010 include the Adirondack Animal Land, Iroquois Museum, Howe Caverns, a trip to S.U.N.Y Cobleskill to see the horse and cow barns and the fishery, and for the end of summer celebration - Interskate 88, the Butterfly Museum and Neawah Park.

Classroom Themes

Each room has weekly themes, such as sports, camping, art, family and friends, outer space, solar system, and multi-cultural activities.  Activities such as making silhouettes, paper mache, tie-dye tee shirts, and stepping stones are used in collaboration with the themes.  Daily activities include music, literacy activities and current events.

School Days

When school is in session there is a morning Kidz Club and the children get on the public school bus from the Center and in the afternoon they are dropped off at the Center from the public school bus.  On full days breakfast, lunch and snack are served, during public school days breakfast is served to the morning children and snack is served to the after school children.
