 HEALTH NEWS Swine Flu Update There is no reason to panic, but there is good reason to keep up with the latest news in this area, as things are in a state of change. You can also keep yourself updated at the following websites: www.cdc.gov/swineflu In the meantime, there are key actions we can take to protect our students, ourselves and our families from potential exposure and transmission of this as well any other virus. All of this is well within our control and can make a difference. Diligence with hand washing and hand hygiene. Carry hand sanitizer with you. - Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing. Dispose of tissue immediately.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Avoid close contact with sick people. If you are sick limit contact with others.
Signs and Symptoms of Swine Flu are the same as any other strain of the flu: - Nasal congestion
- Sore throat
- Cough
- Aches
- Difficulty breathing/respiratory distress
- Fever greater 100° F
- Diarrhea and vomiting
