Policies for Center Closings for
Weather or Emergency

Center closings or delays for bad weather will be announced before 8 a.m. on radio and TV stations: WGY 810 AM, WGNA 107.7 FM, TV Channel 6 WRGB

Head Start and UPK generally follow the school districts closing schedule for snow. The Lark Street Childcare Center and Kidz Club do not follow the public school closings for bad weather.  The Center uses the following guidelines in addressing poor weather conditions.  The Center reserves the right to close due to inclement weather or in case of  emergencies.  The decision to close will be made jointly by the Executive Director, Transportation Director and Center Director.

If the LSCC or Kidz Club do not open due to an emergency or severe weather conditions, the closing announcements will be made on the following radio and TV stations:  WGY 810 AM, WGNA 107.7 FM,  TV Channel 10(WTEN) & 13(WNYT), and phone chain.

If the Center closes due to an emergency or inclement weather conditions during operating hours, parents will be contacted by phone and be given a minimum of 1 1/2 hours of notice to come pick up their child.

Please note: If you call a center during a snow storm or severe weather in the morning and there is no answer generally the agency is closed.

Lark Street Senior Care closes when Head Start and UPK are closed.
